2-component, semi-thick construction adhesive for filling thin joints and for vertical bonding of natural and artificial stones .
Good adhesion on metal and wet stones.
The cartridges guarantee a simple, reliable and clean job.
An exact and homogeneous mixture.
Features :
- Solvent-free
- Weather resistant
- Easy dosing and mixing thanks to the cartridge system adaptable to any standard gun
- Very little shrinkage during curing and minimal tension in the adhesive layer
- Bonding particularly resistant to weathering
- Good heat stability: approximately 60-70°C for filled bonds and approximately 100-110°C for standard bonds
- No deformation of the glue layer
- Good resistance to aging
- Excellent resistance to alkalis, and therefore recommended for bonding to concrete
- Recommended for use on gas-tight materials due to the absence of solvents.
- Good electrical insulation
- Good adhesion on slightly damp stones
- Recommended for solvent-sensitive materials, such as expanded polystyrene and ABS.
- The product does not tend to crystallize, so there are no storage problems and it is safe to use.
- Mixing ratio 2:1.
Use :
A: Cartridge System:
- Thoroughly clean the surfaces to be glued and roughen them.
- Remove the cartridge cap, insert the cartridge into the gun, operate the handle until material comes out of both openings, if necessary, attach a mixing nozzle.
- The product can be coloured using AKEPOX colourants or concentrates (max. 5%).
- If you use it without a mixing nozzle, the two components must be thoroughly mixed.
- The mixture can be used for approximately 40 to 50 minutes (20°C).
The bonded parts are transportable after 6 to 8 hours (20°C), loadable and machinable after 12 to 16 hours (20°C).
Maximum strength after 7 days (20°C). - Tools can be cleaned with AKEMI Nitro Thinner.
- Heat accelerates and cold delays the hardening reaction.
B: Boxed products
- Thoroughly clean the surfaces to be glued and roughen them.
- Mix 2 equal parts by weight or volume of glue with 1 equal part by weight or volume of hardener until a homogeneous color is obtained.
- The product can be coloured using AKEPOX colourants or concentrates (max. 5%).

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
- Can AKEMI AKEPOX® 2020 be used to bond white marble?
Yes, but it's important to consider that hardened adhesive tends to yellow when exposed to light or light-colored surfaces. If the joint or bonding area is visible and light-colored, it may be preferable to choose a very low-yellowing or transparent epoxy adhesive. - Can it be used outdoors in cold weather?
Yes, it's suitable for outdoor use, as the product is weather-resistant. However, application should not be done below approximately 10°C, as the curing process will be insufficient. - What is the setting time before one can work/move on the glued element?
At ~20 °C: approximately 6-8 hours for displacement, 12-16 hours for machining/loading, 7 days for maximum strength. - Can this glue be colored to match a stone or a joint?
Yes. You can add a maximum of ~5% of AKEMI® color paste or concentrate to adjust the shade. - What types of materials can be glued with it?
Natural stone (marble, granite, limestone), artificial stone, concrete, terrazzo, metal, fiberglass, wood, glass, rigid synthetic materials (hard PVC, ABS), etc. Caution – not suitable for PE, PP, silicone, soft PU, etc. - What safety precautions should be taken?
Use gloves, eye protection, and a mask if necessary. stein.akemi.de Ensure correct mixing ratio (2:1). Do not work with the product if it has already thickened or gelled. Ensure good ventilation in the work area. Follow the safety data sheet. - How do I clean the tools after use?
Clean tools immediately with AKEMI® Nitro-Thinner while the adhesive is still wet. Once hardened, it can no longer be removed with solvents, only mechanically or by high temperature (> 200 °C).
