FLEXcement comfort - Flexible and lightweight tile adhesive - PTB Compaktuna

FLEXcement comfort is a dry composition that gives a light, easy-to-work-with glue with great " flexibility ", ready to use by simply adding water.

FLEXcement COMFORT not only covers the field of traditional cementitious and paste adhesives, but also guarantees numerous applications where these products can no longer provide solutions.

FLEXcement COMFORT allows the bonding of the following materials, both indoors and outdoors : earthenware, ceramics, mosaics, etc., and this on a support such as e.g. concrete, masonry, cemented surfaces, cellular concrete, stable wood chip boards (interior), veneers (interior), etc.
Even gluing tiles onto tiles is possible with FLEXcement COMFORT (interior).

  Thus FLEXcement COMFORT can economically replace paste-like adhesives.
• A combination of qualities that provides a solution in challenging situations. FLEXcement COMFORT, for example, offers a solution in numerous applications involving bonding tiles to a tile substrate (indoor use only).
• The incorporation of a light filler makes FLEXcement COMFORT lightweight, easy to work with, and with very good resistance to vertical slippage.
  The tiles can be easily adjusted. It is also possible to work with a variable thickness of adhesive.
  This makes FLEXcement COMFORT an ideal adhesive for large-format tiles (XL tiles), including those laid against walls. Provided they are installed according to best practices, tiles measuring 1 x 1 m can be bonded with FLEXcement COMFORT.
• A 15 kg bag of FLEXcement COMFORT corresponds in consumption to a 25 kg bag of conventional glue, which saves on transport and on the construction itself.

Instructions for use:

1. The application will always be done on a stable, clean, sound surface, free of dust and traces of oil.
   Highly absorbent substrates are pre-impregnated with a solution of COMPAKTUNA (PRO)/water (1/4) or PRIMER PO.
2. The support panels must always be securely fixed before starting to place the tiles.
3. FLEXcement COMFORT should be mixed with approximately 54% water, i.e., ±8.10 L of water per 15 kg of product. (or 58% water for use as a thin adhesive).
4. The powder is added to the water by mixing.
   All of this takes place in a narrow tank.
5. It is recommended to completely immerse the mixer in the powder.
6. After careful mixing, let the resulting glue rest for 5 minutes.
7. Next, the glue must be mixed thoroughly again. The mortar is now ready to use.
8. The surface is first covered with a thin layer of mortar using a trowel or a notched spatula.
   This layer must be well compacted.
9. Immediately afterwards a second layer is applied which is divided into regular grooves using a notched spatula (notched spatula 4 to 20 mm).
10. Then the slabs are laid with a slight rotating motion and firmly compacted.
11. The open time of the applied layer depends on the working conditions and the substrate.
12. Grouting should only be carried out when the adhesive is sufficiently strong (wait at least 24 hours, depending on the temperature and atmospheric humidity).

±0.8 kg/mm/m² in powder form.

±8.1 L mixing liquid per bag (±54%) leveling mortar, thick bed adhesive and thin bed adhesive, ±8.7 L mixing liquid per bag (±58%) (fluid adhesive)

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is FLEXcement Comfort suitable for underfloor heating?
   Yes, thanks to its high flexibility, it is perfectly compatible with underfloor heating (low temperature), provided that the support is suitable and properly prepared.
2. Can this glue be used outdoors?
   Yes, FLEXcement Comfort is designed for indoor and outdoor use, resistant to temperature variations and climatic constraints.
3. Is this glue suitable for large formats?
   Yes, it is suitable for medium to large format tiles, provided that double gluing is used to ensure optimal adhesion.
4. Can it be glued onto old tiles?
   Yes, provided the existing tiles are solid, clean, grease-free, and slightly rough. A bonding primer may be recommended.
5. How is the “Comfort” version different from a classic glue?
   It is lighter, therefore easier to transport and handle, while offering better creaminess and superior application comfort, reducing fatigue on site.
6. How long before I can walk on the tiles?
   In general, light traffic is possible after 24 hours, depending on the conditions (temperature, humidity, surface).
