Flowbed - Tile adhesive - PTB Compaktuna

Flowbed is a dry composition which gives a highly flexible thixotropic glue , ready for use by the simple addition of water.

Features :

  1. The glue has been specially designed for the simple gluing of large format tiles (up to 80 x 80 cm). The glue can be applied in layers of 1 mm to 2 cm thick, which makes it possible to compensate for the irregularities of large format tiles by adapting the thickness of the glue.
  2. The glue is characterized on the one hand by a long open time, and on the other hand, by its rapid hardening which allows the floor to be grouted after at least 6 hours and therefore to have the floor put into service quickly.
  3. Extraordinary adhesion and a “fluid” glue of the C2 FG type which can be compressed easily.
  4. Good elasticity, which allows the glue to be used for gluing tiles to tiles (only indoors) and for floors with underfloor heating (the format of tiles with underfloor heating is max. 60 x 60 cm).

Manual :

  1. The application will always be carried out on a clean, stable, healthy surface, free of dust and traces of oil.
Supports with high absorption are pre-impregnated with a solution of COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water (1/4).
  2. FLOWBED should be mixed with approximately 24% water i.e. ± 6 L of water on 25 kg of product, depending on the desired consistency.
Pour about 4/5 of the required amount of water into a bowl or mechanical mixer and slowly and evenly add the dry glue.
Mix everything with a slow mixer until you obtain a homogeneous mass without lumps.
  3. Then pour in the remaining 1/5 of the required amount of water and mix again until a homogeneous mass is obtained.
  4. Let the mortar sit for 5 minutes.
  5. Then the mortar must be mixed intensively again.
The glue is now ready to use.
  6. The support is first covered with a thin layer of glue using a trowel or a notched spatula.
This layer must be well packed.
  7. Immediately afterwards a second coat is applied which is divided into regular grooves using a notched spatula.
  8. Use a serrated spatula that you choose based on the equality of the surface of the tile and the thickness of the desired layer of glue.
  9. The tile is laid in the spread glue with a reciprocating motion and adjusted to the correct distance.
It is recommended to spread the desired quantity of glue using a suitable serrated spatula.
  10. Always lay the tile in line with the grooves, so that as much air can escape as possible.
Grouting ( JOINT HY or JOINT-LARGE SP ) is only carried out when the glue is sufficiently resistant (wait at least 6 hours, depending on the temperature and atmospheric humidity).
