Varioflex - Flexible tile adhesive - PTB Compaktuna

Varioflex for gluing earthenware , porcelain stoneware and mosaic tiles.

Applicable both indoors and outdoors on supports such as concrete, masonry, screeds, cementing, plaster coating, cellular concrete, plasterboard , etc. For both floor and wall applications.

Features :

  • For gluing on plaster-based supports, we recommend using a primer such as Primer PO or a dilution of COMPAKTUNA (1 part COMPAKTUNA to 4 parts water).
  • VARIOFLEX can be used for gluing tiles measuring 60 x 60 cm on a classic screed.
For gluing on a heated floor, the maximum tile size is 40 x 40 cm.
  • VARIOFLEX is a lightweight, easy to handle glue. Due to its excellent resistance to vertical sliding, the glue is perfectly suited to sticking to the wall. 24 hours after placement, the glue has hardened enough to access the part and repoint.
  • For the installation of natural stone slabs, we recommend that you coat the entire slab with glue and not work with glue pads.
  • The gluing of certain natural stones (e.g. marble) must be carried out with white FLEXcement , white FLEX-THICK or white FLEXcement RAPID .

Manual :

  1. It is recommended to treat absorbent and plaster-based supports beforehand with a primer such as PRIMER PO or a dilution of COMPAKTUNA (1 part COMPAKTUNA to 4 parts water).
  2. The support must be dry, stable and clean. Remove any impurities and dust with a vacuum cleaner.
  3. A bag of VARIOFLEX is wasted with ±6.5 L of water.
The quantity of water is poured into a tank to which the bag of dry powder is then added.
  4. The mixture is made homogeneous with a mixer at slow speed.
  5. After letting the glue sit for 5 minutes, the glue is mixed again before use.
  6. Use a 4 to 10 mm glue comb.
  7. Apply the glue to the support with the smooth side of a glue comb and ensure good contact with the support.
  8. Then spread the glue with the serrated side of a glue comb and place the tile in the still fresh grooves.
  9. The open time of the applied layer depends on the working conditions and the support.
  10. Grouting ( HY JOINT or LARGE SP JOINT ) is only carried out when the glue is sufficiently resistant (wait at least 24 hours depending on the temperature and atmospheric humidity).
For tiles with a surface area larger than 30 x 30 cm, it is recommended to also put glue on the back of the tiles.
