Flex-thick - Tile adhesive - PTB Compaktuna

Flex-thick is a dry composition which gives a ready-to-use glue by the simple addition of water for laying small and large format tiles , with an installation thickness of 2 to 10 mm.

Features :

• Allows the bonding of the following materials, both indoors and outdoors: earthenware, ceramics, mosaics, etc., on a support such as concrete, masonry, surfaces cemented, aerated concrete, cement coating and plaster.
• Bonding to plaster blocks and plaster plaster is only possible after prior treatment with a COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water (1/4) solution.
  For the placement of natural stone slabs, we recommend that you coat the entire surface with glue and not work with crampons.
  The gluing of certain natural stones (e.g. marble) must be carried out with white FLEX-THICK.
• Floors with underfloor heating can also be tiled with FLEX-THICK (the format of tiles with underfloor heating is a maximum of 60 x 60 cm).
• FLEX-THICK is a light, very manageable glue.
  Thanks to its excellent performance in resistance to vertical sliding, the glue is perfectly suited to gluing earthenware to the wall.
  24 hours after placement, the glue has hardened enough to enter the part and repoint.
  Based on the NBN EN 12004 standard, the gray and white THICK FLEX have been tested and can be classified as C2 TE.

Manual :

1. Flex-thick is used on cementing, plastering, screeds, leveling layers, concrete, etc.
2. The application will always be carried out on a dry, clean, stable, healthy surface, free of dust and traces of oil.
   Supports with high absorption are pre-impregnated with a solution of COMPAKTUNA (PRO) /water (1/4).
   Smooth, non-porous surfaces must be scraped.
3. Flex-thick should be mixed with approximately 25% water, i.e. ± 6.25 L of water on 25 kg of product.
4. After careful mixing, he lets the glue thus obtained rest for 5 to 15 minutes.
5. Then the glue must be mixed intensively again.
   The glue is now ready to use.
6. The support is first covered with a thin layer of glue using a trowel or a notched spatula.
   This layer must be well packed.
7. Immediately afterwards a second layer is applied which is divided into regular grooves using a notched spatula (notched spatula 6 to 18 mm).
8. Then the slabs are laid with a small rotating movement and firmly packed.
   The open time of the applied layer depends on the working conditions and the support.
9. Press the tiles well onto the fresh grooves to obtain complete adhesion of the back of the tiles.
10. Grouting ( JOINT HY or JOINT-LARGE SP ) is only carried out when the glue is sufficiently resistant (wait at least 24 hours, depending on the temperature and atmospheric humidity).
11. For large format tiles: Also glue the back of the tile to obtain double gluing
