Sikasil WS-605 S is a neutral curing silicone sealant with high movement accommodation and excellent adhesion to many substrates.

Features

• Meets requirements of ISO 11600 25 LM F & G, ASTM C 920 (Class 50), ASTM C 1248, TT-S00230C, TT-S001543A, DIN 18540, DIN 18545 (Group E)
• Excellent resistance to UV and atmospheric conditions
• Does not stain the surfaces adjacent to the joint (non-staining)
• Good adhesion to many substrates including glass, metals, metals, plastics and wood

Application areas

• Sikasil WS-605 S can be used for weather resistant grouting in areas requiring high durability under severe conditions.
• The product is particularly suitable for weatherproof jointing in facades and structural glazing.
• This product is reserved for strictly professional use.

Application

1. Sikasil WS-605 S is applied by spray gun after preparation of the substrates.
2. The seals must be suitably sized, any subsequent modification being impossible.
3. For optimum performance, the joint width will be calculated based on the sealant's ability to accommodate movement and based on expected movement.
4. The minimum depth of the joint must be 6 mm and a width/depth ratio of 2:1 must be respected.
5. We recommend using closed cell foam joint fillers compatible with mastic (high elastic recovery polyethylene foam for example).
6. For joints that are not deep enough to allow the laying of a backing strip, we recommend the laying of a polyethylene tape which will allow the joint to move and the silicone to stretch freely.
