Sikaflex-84 UV+ is a durable, UV-resistant, 1-component, elastic glazing sealant based on polyurethane.

Areas of application

Sealing of all types of glazing, and in particular insulating glass. Sikaflex®-84 UV+ has high resistance to atmospheric influences and adheres perfectly without a primer to glass, wood, and many other painted surfaces. However, on many other materials, such as PVC, applying a primer is essential.

1. Can SikaFlex-84 UV+ be used outdoors?
   Yes, it is specially formulated to resist UV rays, aging and weathering, making it perfectly suited for outdoor applications.
2. Is it compatible with all types of glass?
   It adheres very well to standard glass, laminated glass, tempered glass, and most joinery substrates. For specific technical applications, Sika recommends a preliminary test.
3. Can the sealant be painted after application?
   Yes, once polymerized, it can be painted. It is advisable to perform a test first, as compatibility depends on the type of paint.
4. What is the complete drying time?
   Complete polymerization can take 24 to 48 hours, depending on the joint thickness and ambient humidity. Skinning time is approximately 45 minutes.
5. Can this sealant be used to glue a mirror?
   Yes, the product is suitable for bonding mirrors, but a preliminary test is recommended to check compatibility with the backing.
6. What is the difference with other Sika sealants (e.g. Sikaflex-11FC+)?
   SikaFlex-84 UV+ is specially designed for glass and offers better UV resistance, which distinguishes it from multipurpose sealants like 11FC+.
7. Should a primer be applied?
   Depending on the substrate. Glass often requires no primer; for metals or porous substrates, Sika primer is recommended. Always refer to the manufacturer's technical data sheet.
8. Is the product heat resistant?
   Yes, once polymerized, it withstands the usual thermal variations of glazing and joinery (≈ –40 °C to +90 °C).
9. Is it suitable for joints on facades?
   Yes, thanks to its UV resistance and durability, it is perfectly suited for glazed facade joints.
