Soudafoam FR HY is a high-performance, fire-rated, single-component expanding polyurethane foam (25% higher than standard Soudafoam FR fire-retardant foam). It cures quickly.

Instructions for use:

1. Shake the aerosol can vigorously for 20 seconds.
2. Screw the nozzle onto the aerosol can.
3. Dampen the dust-free and grease-free surface.
4. For unusual substrates, it is advisable to perform an adhesion test.
5. Fill the joint or cavity to 1/3, as the foam continues to expand during its hardening.
6. Shake regularly during use.
7. If multiple coats are applied, moisten between coats.
8. Unhardened foam can be removed with cleaner or acetone.
9. Hardened foam can only be removed mechanically, with Soudal PU-remover.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is Soudafoam FR HY really fire-resistant?
   Yes, it is EI240 certified, which means it is fire resistant for up to 4 hours, in accordance with European standards EN 1366-4 and EN 13501-2.
2. Can it be used around electrical cables?
   Yes, it is suitable for sealing cable passages, pipes or technical ducts, while maintaining a fire barrier.
3. Do I need to use a spray gun to apply it?
   No, the HY (Hand-held) version is used manually, without a gun. Simply screw on the supplied nozzle and apply.
4. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, once hardened, it is very resistant to humidity and climatic variations. However, it is recommended to cover the foam (with plaster or paint).
5. How long does it take for it to harden completely?
   Full hardening is achieved between 12 and 24 hours, depending on ambient humidity and foam thickness.
6. What materials does the foam adhere to?
   It adheres to concrete, brick, wood, plaster, PVC, metals, and natural stone. It does not adhere to PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon), or greasy surfaces.
7. Can you paint the foam once it's dry?
   Yes, hardened foam can be sanded, coated and painted without any problem.
8. What is the yield of a bomb?
   Yield varies between 10 and 20 liters, depending on temperature and humidity.
9. Is it suitable for installing fire doors?
   Yes, that's one of its main applications. The foam fills gaps while ensuring fire-resistant continuity around the door frame.
10. Does the foam continue to expand after application?
    Yes, like all PU foams, it is self-expanding. Therefore, it is advisable to fill the cavities only halfway.
