SikaHyflex-250 Facade is a one-component, moisture -curing, low-modulus elastic jointing sealant for concrete , masonry , and exterior insulation systems based on plaster.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Areas of application

SikaHyflex-250 Facade is developed for elastic jointing and sealing of movement and connection joints in the building envelope.
Thanks to its low modulus of elasticity, SikaHyflex-250 Facade is also suitable for use with facade insulation systems.

Application

1. SikaHyflex-250 Facade is supplied ready to use.
2. After adequate preparation of the substrate, insert the joint filler to the required depth and apply primer if necessary.
3. Insert the pouch into the caulking gun and extrude SikaHyflex-250 Facade into the joint, making total contact with the lips of the joint and avoiding the occlusion of air bubbles.
4. SikaHyflex-250 Facade must be applied firmly against the lips of the joint to ensure good adhesion.
5. Use masking tape where precise or exceptionally clean seam lines are required.
6. This tape must be removed before skin forms.
7. Use a compatible smoothing agent (e.g. Sika Smoothing Solution N) to smooth the joint surfaces.
8. Do not use products containing solvents!

• Can SikaHyflex-250 Facade be painted?
  Yes, but it's recommended to do a test beforehand because some paints can crack on flexible surfaces. Using elastic paints is advised.
• Where should it be used? Indoors or outdoors?
  Both are perfectly suited for exterior joints thanks to their UV resistance, but also work in sensitive interior areas, thanks to their EC1 PLUS certification.
• Is it compatible with PVC, aluminum, and wood?
  Yes, it adheres very well to the majority of building materials, including rigid PVC, powder-coated aluminum, painted or raw wood.
• What is the lifespan of the sealant?
  When applied correctly, durability exceeds 10 years, even in outdoor environments.
• At what temperature can it be used?
  Application temperature: between +5°C and +40°C. Once hardened, it withstands temperatures between -40°C and +80°C. 6.
• Can it be used as a sanitary sealant?
  No, for joints subjected to permanent humidity (bathroom), use a sanitary silicone sealant.
• Should a primer be used?
  Not always. A primer is recommended for fragile porous surfaces, cold or humid conditions, and highly absorbent concrete.
• What is the difference with SikaHyflex-250 Construction?
  The 250 Facade is more flexible, designed specifically for visible and facade joints, while the 250 Construction is more structurally versatile.
