Egaline Universal Plus - Levelling compound for interior and exterior floors - Knauf

Leveling mortar for floors , from 2 to 15 mm.
Ready-to-use dry mortar based on special cements , various fillers, synthetic substances , specific additives and fibres .

Application domain :

Egaline universal plus is used on the floor as an adhesive layer for finishing, leveling irregularities and leveling in thin layers of uneven floors, eg. concrete, cement, anhydrite screeds, raw concrete and stable wooden supports (planks or panels) resistant to humidity.

• For an application on a wooden floor, the universal Egaline plus will have a minimum thickness of 5 mm and will be used with the concentrated Knauf Elast.
  It constitutes an ideal support facilitating the laying of floor coverings such as linoleum, textile and vinyl coverings, laminated parquet, ceramics and natural stone.

The perfect flatness of the support thus obtained allows a reduction in the quantity of glue during the application of the coating and advantageously allows a better transfer of this glue.
The universal Egaline plus can under certain conditions be used as a wear and finishing layer, but only for premises with little traffic and subject to light loads and stresses in private housing (reserve, cellar, storage room, etc.). .).

• The presence of fibers allows its application both on hard cement-based substrates and on wooden substrates.
  A frame fabric is not necessary.

The addition of concentrated Knauf Elast considerably widens the possibilities of application, in particular for leveling substrates likely to be subjected to higher tensions (e.g. underfloor heating, on wooden floors, . ..), on old tiles or when the subsequent laying of cork coverings or parquet is planned.
If the equaline is intended to be covered by glued parquet, it must have a minimum thickness of 5 mm.

Outdoors, the use of the product is only permitted on a perfectly dry support that is not subject to rising damp.
In the latter case, the equaline must be protected by a floor covering (to avoid any humidification over time).

Properties and advantages:

• Rapid hardening: Egaline Universelle Plus becomes slightly walkable after 3 to 4 hours depending on the application conditions.
• Fine-structured, self-leveling and self-leveling floor mortar, enriched with admixtures and hydraulically hardening.
• Quickly recoverable: subsequent covering work can already be carried out after 24 hours, depending on the type of floor covering.
• Low shrinkage during curing and low stresses.
• Insensitive to frost.
• Machine applicable.
• Easy to apply, very good spreading and high resistance.
• Provides a finished, flat, porosity-free surface.
• Implementation in one pass for thicknesses between 2 and 15 mm

Remarks :

1. High ambient temperatures or heated substrates shorten the open time.
   The freshly applied leveling layer should be protected from direct sunlight and drafts. Warm mixing water speeds up the setting time, while cold water decreases it.
2. An overdose of water reduces the mechanical resistance of the leveling layer.
3. Leveling of wood-based floors and panels for floors (chipboard, OSB, MDF, etc.) must always be carried out with the combination Knauf Egaline universal plus + Knauf Elast concentrate.
4. Mix only a quantity of more usable universal Egaline within 20 min.
   Material already stiffened by initial setting may not be remixed with water, Egaline Universelle Plus or Knauf Elast Concentrate.
5. All the movement and/or expansion joints present in the support must always be reflected in the layer of equaline as well as in the floor covering.
