Sika Boom-552 FoamFix - Fast curing mounting adhesive - Sika

SikaBond FoamFix is a fast-curing, low-expanding, spray -applicable polyurethane mounting adhesive for bonding insulation and plasterboard to various substrates.

Features

  • Good adhesion to many construction materials
  • Moisture resistant once cured one-component, ready to use
  • Good thermal insulation
  • Can be cut, sanded and painted
  • Professional application with gun

Application areas

The product is designed for use indoors and outdoors, above and below ground level:

  • Plasterboard
  • Extruded polystyrene panels (XPS)
  • Expanded polystyrene panels (EPS)
  • Fibreboard
  • Cork insulation panels
  • Non-structural building elements

Application

  1. Shake the aerosol well for at least 20 times before use.
Note: Repeat agitation after long breaks during use
  2. Remove the cap from the aerosol.
  3. Screw the aerosol onto the thread of the application gun.
  4. Dispense the foam by pressing the trigger.
IMPORTANT: To ensure proper flow, hold can upside down while dispensing.
Note: The amount of foam extruded can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger or by using the flow adjustment screw on the application gun.
  5. Apply foam lines 2-3 cm wide on the panel.
  6. Space the rows about 25 cm apart.
  7. Before attaching the panels to the substrate, allow the foam to harden for the specified waiting time (2 - 3 minutes).
  8. Fix the panels within the specified open time of the foam (5 - 8 minutes).
IMPORTANT: Do not move or reattach panels once foam has begun to harden.
If a panel needs to be removed and reattached, reapply the foam as previously described.
  9. Fill gaps and joints between panels with foam.
Note: Small gaps can be filled with an extension tube, however this will reduce foam flow.

IMPORTANT: Before removing the aerosol, deposit anything left in the aerosol into a container for safe disposal.
Removing aerosol without emptying it first can cause foam to splatter.

IMPORTANT: Clean the application gun with Sika Boom Cleaner directly after use.
Removing the aerosol without thoroughly cleaning it with Sika Boom Cleaner may damage the application gun.
