Sikafloor curehard LI - Concrete Hardener - Sika

Sikafloor CureHard LI is a water-based lithium silicate mixture for sealing and post-treatment for freshly cast or hardened concrete , which is smoothed or polished. Sikafloor CureHard LI is less susceptible to the formation of stubborn white efflorescence in case of overdose compared to similar sodium or potassium silicate products.

Once applied to a concrete surface Sikafloor CureHard LI penetrates that surface, and initiates a chemical reaction and subsequent crystallization of the reaction products, resulting in filling of pores in the concrete surface.

Application domain

• Horizontal concrete surfaces, old or new, where a hard surface with low to medium abrasion resistance is required, such as warehouses, industrial areas, stores, shopping centers, parking garages, gas stations, hangars, etc.
• Suitable for interior and exterior applications
• Dust binder for precast concrete elements

Application

Existing concrete, hardened concrete and new concrete:

1. Using a low pressure sprayer, apply in one go, enough to wet the surface without producing puddles (risk of white efflorescence).
2. Use a clean microfiber pad to distribute the product evenly and ensure consistent wetting.
3. Avoid spreading it once the product begins to dry.
4. There is no need to scrub.
   If surfaces dry immediately, apply more product.
5. The surface should remain damp for 5 to 10 minutes.
6. Application by cleaning machine with flexible discs is optional.
7. Allow the treated surfaces to dry.
8. Remove dried powder residue with a broom, sweeper or scrubber.
   For highly absorbent floors, a second application is recommended.
9. For an instant and enhanced shine, polish or buff the dry concrete surface in perpendicular directions using a polishing machine equipped with suitable polishing discs. This is a dry process.

Smoothed concrete, freshly poured, not completely hardened:

1. Using a low pressure sprayer, apply in one go, sufficient to wet the surface without producing puddles of water (risk of white efflorescence).
2. Use a clean microfiber pad to distribute the product evenly and ensure uniform wetting.
3. Avoid spreading it once the product begins to dry.
4. There is no need to scrub.
   If surfaces dry immediately, apply more product.
5. The surface should remain damp for 5 to 10 minutes.
6. Allow the treated surfaces to dry.
7. Immediately begin the indicated curing procedure.
8. After curing, use an automatic floor scrubber with suitable cleaning discs or brushes to remove accumulated dirt and surface residue.
9. Avoid discs or brushes which could damage the finished floor.

Consumption

~ 0.05 - 0.10 l/m2 (~ 10 - 20 m² / l, on helicopter-smoothed concrete)
All values are theoretical and do not take into account additional consumption required due to porosity, roughness and level differences of the substrate, nor with loss of product etc.
