      D400 cast iron looks and hydraulic lids

      Non-slip cast iron sidewalk cover with hydraulic closure. The edge of the U-shaped frame must be filled with water or sand to obtain a seal. Ductile cast iron cover with a charge class according to EN124-D400kN.

      Characteristics of ductile cast iron

      there ductile cast owes its remarkable mechanical characteristics to the spheroidal form of graphite it contains:

      • traction resistance
      • shock resistance
      • high elastic limit
      • Significant lengthening

      These characteristics can be further improved by mastering the chemical analysis and thermal treatment of the metal matrix.
      Ductile melting, however, retains the traditional mechanical qualities of the casts, derived from their high carbon content:

      • compression resistance
      • moulding ability
      • resistance to abrasion
      • usinability
      • resistance to fatigue

      400 kN load during testing.

      The 2015 EN124 standard applies. It determines the technical characteristics of coronation and closure devices for traffic areas used by pedestrians and vehicles. It specifies the principles of construction, standard testing, marking and quality control.

      The manufacturing quality of the cast ensures an exemplary durability of the products. In addition, the cast is indefinitely 100% recyclable. One way to reduce the environmental impact.
