Characteristics of ductile cast iron

Defining load resistance classes

The class of closure devices and crowning devices suitable for use depends on the place of installation. The various places of installation have been divided into classes. Choosing the right class is the installer's responsibility. A higher class should be chosen where there is doubt about which class to use.

	Pedestrian streets and car parks. Places for cars and vans travelling at moderate speeds. Break load: 250 kN/m2 or 25 tonnes/m2
	Traffic lanes and parking areas for all types of road vehicles. V max: 50 km/h Break load: 400 kN/m2 or 40 Tonnes/m2
	Areas subject to high aasole loads such as ports and industrial areas. V max - 50 km/h Break load: 600 kN/m2 or 60 tonnes/m2
