Silirub 2S - Neutral silicone sealant - Soudal

Silirub 2/S is a high quality neutral elastic one-component sealant based on silicones.

Features :

• Excellent humidity resistance
• Neutral hardening
• Low indentation factor
• Insensitive to mould, contains ZnP (biocide with fungicidal action)
• Very malleable
• UV resistant
• Permanent elasticity after polymerization
• Strong adhesion to virtually all substrates
• Very good resistance to aging
• Not recoverable
• Not suitable for natural stone

Applications:

• Seals in sanitary areas (on bathtubs and plastic shower trays) and in kitchens
• Finishing seals for glazing
• Seals in cold rooms and in container construction
• Seals in ventilation systems

Chemical resistance:

Resistant to intermittent exposure to sea water, detergents, oils, weak acids and bases (prior testing required). Poor resistance to aromatic solvents, concentrated acids, chlorinated hydrocarbons.

Supports:

Types: all usual construction surfaces, ceramic tiles, enamel, stainless steel, Acrylic bathtubs, glass, corian, ...

Condition: dimensionally stable, clean, dry, dusted and degreased.

Pretreatment: Silirub 2/S has good adhesion to most substrates. However, for optimum adhesion and in critical applications, such as joints exposed to extreme weather conditions, heavily loaded or water-laden joints, it is recommended that a pre-treatment procedure be followed. Prepare non-porous surfaces with a Soudal activator or cleaner (see technical data sheet). Apply Primer 150 on porous substrates.
There is no adhesion on PE, PP, PTFE (Teflon®) and bituminous surfaces.
It is advisable to carry out a preliminary adhesion and compatibility test on any support.
