Neutral oxime type silicone , perfectly suited for all sanitary applications and wet areas as well as for cold rooms .

Applications:

• Sealing of glazing joints.
• For all sanitary applications, for grouting in wet areas such as bathrooms, showers, kitchens and cold rooms.

Instructions for use:

1. Preparation :
   • Do not apply in confined spaces. It is important to ventilate the areas well during application and curing.
   • The surfaces must be solid, dry and free from dust and grease.
   • If necessary, degrease with Parasilico Cleaner , MEK, alcohol or ethanol.
   • The user must ensure that the product used is suitable for their intended purpose. If necessary, contact our technical support.
2. Primary schools:
   • Absorbent surfaces: Silicone Primer Porous Surfaces (transparent, drying time approx. 60 min.).
   • Non-absorbent surfaces: Silicone Primer Non-Porous Surfaces (transparent, drying time approx. 60 min.).
   • The use of a primer may be necessary on very porous surfaces, in cases of poor adhesion or under demanding conditions of use.
3. Laid :
   • Apply the product from the cartridge/pouch with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun.
   • The size and shape of the joint are very important. Avoid thin joints.
   • Do not apply thermal, mechanical or chemical loads before complete hardening.
4. Joint dimensions:
   • Allowable joint widths from 5 mm to 30 mm
   • For joints up to 10 mm wide: the joint depth must be equal to the joint width. For joints wider than 10 mm: the joint depth = (joint width/3) + 6 mm.
5. Smoothing
   • Smooth before skin formation with Perfect Joint Tooling Smoothing Agent Liquid and/or with the Perfect Joint Tool Smoothing Palette
   • Avoid getting any tooling agent on the surface before applying silicone. Silicone will not adhere to a wet surface.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between neutral silicone and acetic silicone?
   Neutral silicone (oxime) emits almost no odor and does not attack sensitive materials (metals, natural stone). Acetic silicone gives off a vinegar odor and can corrode some metals, but dries slightly faster. Parasilico Sanitair N is neutral and therefore more versatile.
2. Can Parasilico Sanitair N be used on natural stone?
   Yes, it is designed to be compatible with natural stone without risk of staining. However, for very porous or sensitive stones, a preliminary test is recommended.
3. Is it suitable for a shower cubicle or a joint subjected to constant moisture?
   Yes, it is a special sanitary silicone that is mold-resistant and designed for constant exposure to water.
4. How long does it take to get the seal wet?
   The sealant must dry for a minimum of 24 hours before being put into contact with water. The thicker the layer, the longer the drying time (up to 48 hours).
5. Can Parasilico Sanitair N silicone be painted?
   No, like all silicones, it cannot be painted over. If a painted joint is required, choose a suitable acrylic sealant.
6. What is the lifespan of the seal?
   With correct application and simple maintenance, a sanitary seal can last 5 to 10 years without loss of effectiveness.
7. Is a primer necessary before application?
   In most cases, no. However, on certain technical plastics or very smooth surfaces, a primer can improve adhesion.
8. How to prevent mold growth on a sanitary seal?
   Use a high-quality, fungicidal silicone sealant. Ventilate the bathroom regularly. Clean periodically with non-abrasive products.
9. Does the silicone have a strong odor when applied?
   Oxime silicone emits a faint odor, much milder than acetic silicones.
