Neutral alkoxy-type silicone on a transparent base that can be painted with most wood paints.

Given the wide variety of paint types available, it is recommended to test the compatibility between the sealant and the paint beforehand.

Ideal for glazing joints and can also be applied to natural stone.

Instructions for use:

1. Preparation :
   • Do not apply in confined spaces. It is important to ventilate the areas well during application and curing.
   • The surfaces must be solid, dry and free from dust and grease.
   • If necessary, degrease with Parasilico Cleaner , MEK, alcohol or ethanol.
   • The user must ensure that the product used is suitable for their intended purpose. If necessary, contact our technical support.
2. Primary schools:
   • Absorbent surfaces: Silicone Primer Porous Surfaces (transparent, drying time approx. 60 min.).
   • Non-absorbent surfaces: Silicone Primer for Non-Porous Surfaces (transparent, drying time approx. 60 min.)
   • The use of a primer may be necessary on very porous surfaces, in cases of poor adhesion or under demanding conditions of use.
3. Laid :
   • Apply the product from the cartridge/pouch with a manual or pneumatic caulking gun.
   • The size and shape of the joint are very important. Avoid thin joints.
   • Do not apply thermal, mechanical or chemical loads before complete hardening.
4. Joint dimensions:
   • Allowable joint widths from 5 mm to 30 mm
   • Top glazing seal according to NPR 3577: seal width at least 5 mm, seal depth at least 5 mm
   • For joints up to 10 mm wide: the joint depth must be equal to the joint width. For joints wider than 10 mm: the joint depth = (joint width/3) + 6 mm.
5. Smoothing:
   1. Smooth before skin formation with Perfect Joint Tooling Smoothing Agent Liquid and/or with the Perfect Joint Tool Smoothing Palette
   2. Avoid getting any tooling agent on the surface before applying silicone. Silicone will not adhere to a wet surface.
6. Cleaning:
   • To clean tools and surfaces and remove residue before hardening, use Parasilico Cleaner , Multi-purpose Super Cleaner , or Cleaning Wipes . Hardened residue can be removed with Silicone Remover.
   • After hardening, mechanically remove the hardened elements.
7. Repair :
   • With the same product.
8. Paint :
   • Given the wide variety of paint types available, it is recommended to test the compatibility between the sealant and the paint beforehand.
   • Only paint after it has completely hardened. Before painting, roughly sand the joint with a scouring sponge and degrease thoroughly with Parasilico Cleaner.
   • Not designed to be painted with water-based facade paints and wall paints.
   • Can be painted with synthetic and water-based paints after complete vulcanization.
   • Depending on the paint's composition, drying time may be affected. It takes several weeks for the bond to fully cure. Do not use sharp objects during maintenance.
   • Static joints can be fully painted. For expansion joints, it is recommended to paint a maximum of 1 mm, as the elasticity of the sealant and the paint differs.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does Parasilico VP T yellow over time?
   No, thanks to its neutral alkoxy formulation, it offers excellent UV resistance and does not yellow.
2. Can it be used in a bathroom?
   Yes, it is perfectly suited for sanitary fixtures, shower seals, sinks, etc. For areas constantly submerged (swimming pools, tanks), use a specific silicone sealant.
3. Can it be used on natural stone?
   Yes, unlike acetic silicones, it does not cause stains on natural stones such as marble or granite.
4. Is it compatible with polycarbonate and plexiglass?
   Yes, its neutral system makes it compatible with most sensitive plastics.
5. How long does it take for the sealant to dry?
   The silicone forms a skin in approximately 10 to 20 minutes and hardens completely in 24 to 48 hours.
6. Can the Parasilico VP T be painted?
   No, like all silicones, the product is not combable.
7. What is the yield of a cartridge?
   Approximately 8 to 12 meters of joint depending on the width (for approximately 5 × 5 mm).
8. Should a bonding primer be used?
   In most cases, no. However, on very porous or critical surfaces, a primer can improve adhesion.
9. What is its temperature resistance?
   Application temperature: +5°C to +40°C. Resistance once polymerized: -50°C to +150°C.
10. Which type of silicone should I choose, neutral or acetic?
    Alkoxy neutral is recommended for PVC, metal, stone, polycarbonate, and sensitive surfaces. It is odorless and does not attack materials.
