Resogalva - Protective coating for zinc, galvanized and aluminum - Zep Industries

Provides protection and adhesion to ferrous metals , light metals, galvanized steel , stainless steel after scratching, and wood.
Can also be applied to plastics and paints that are more than a year old after prior testing.

Applications:

• Brush or roller: 0 to 5%.
• Airless nozzle of 16 to 18/000 of an inch, angle 25 to 40°, 100 mesh filter: dilute 8 to 10%.
• Spray gun: dilute to approximately 10%.

Instructions for use:

Preparation of the supports:

1. New work: degrease thoroughly. On polished aluminum, etching is necessary; otherwise, sanding with fine sandpaper is recommended.
2. Old oxidized supports: brush vigorously to remove powdery oxides and loose rust.
   Degrease.

1. Does Resogalva replace hot-dip galvanizing?
   No, but it offers high-performance cold galvanizing, ideal for touch-ups or protecting localized areas. It's perfect for industrial maintenance.
2. Can Resogalva be applied to rust?
   It must be applied to a clean, sound surface. Light, adherent oxidation is acceptable, but heavy rust must be removed.
3. Can you paint over it?
   Yes, after complete drying (usually 24 hours). It makes an excellent anti-corrosion undercoat.
4. Is the product resistant to salt water?
   Yes, thanks to its high zinc content, it offers very high resistance to salt spray, making it suitable for marine environments.
5. Can it be used on aluminum or stainless steel?
   It adheres best to ferrous metals. For aluminum or stainless steel, a primer is recommended before application.
6. Is it suitable for protecting welds?
   Yes, that's one of its main uses. It effectively protects welds against corrosion.
7. How long does the protection last?
   Under normal conditions, several years of protection. In very aggressive environments, periodic touch-ups may be necessary.
