Sika Boom-156 2C is a self-expanding, 2-component, fast-curing, nozzle-applied polyurethane foam .
It is specially designed to fix, fill and insulate joints around window frames and door frames.

No additional fixing is required when installing interior doors , as the polymerized foam is strong.
It can also be used to fill all kinds of joints , gaps or around penetrations.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Areas of application

The product is designed to:

The product can be used for indoor and outdoor applications.

Application

1. Remove the aerosol can cap.
2. Screw the nozzle firmly onto the valve thread without pressing the trigger or the valve.
3. After shaking the can, wait 30 seconds before applying the foam.
4. Dispense a small amount of foam and check the color.
   A uniform light blue foam indicates that the mixture is sufficient.
   A multicoloured foam (light yellow and blue) indicates insufficient mixing.
   Shake the can again 20 times, dispense a small amount of foam and check the color again.
5. Dispense the foam by pressing the trigger.
   To ensure proper flow, hold the container upside down during dispensing.
   The amount of extruded foam can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger.

1. What is the difference between a 1C and a 2C foam?
   A 1C foam depends on ambient humidity to react. A 2C foam contains its own hardener, guaranteeing faster curing, a uniform result, and consistent performance, even in dry or cold weather.
2. Can Sika Boom-156 2C foam be used outdoors?
   Yes, it can be used outdoors provided it is protected from UV rays after application (plaster, paint, sealant, etc.).
3. Can the foam be painted or coated after it has hardened?
   Yes, once hardened, the foam can be cut, sanded, coated and painted.
4. How long does it take for the foam to harden?
   Skin formation, approximately 5 minutes. Cutting possible, approximately 10 minutes. Complete hardening, a few hours depending on the volume.
5. Which materials are compatible?
   Excellent adhesion to concrete, mortar, stone, brick, wood, metals, PVC, and common synthetic materials. Not compatible with: PE, PP, PTFE.
6. Does the foam continue to expand after application?
   Post-expansion is minimal, allowing for precise and controlled filling.
7. Is the foam suitable for sound insulation?
   Yes, the foam reduces sound transmission in cavities and gaps.
8. What does the EC1 PLUS certification mean?
