Sika Boom-553 Low Expansion is a one-component, self-expanding polyurethane foam for spray application.
It is ideal for filling connection joints around window and door frames, as it has low subsequent expansion as well as low expansive pressure.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.

Areas of application

The product is designed for:

• Insulation and filling of cavities and voids
• Filling joints around window and door frames
• Insulation against cold and drafts
• Filling around pipes/duct penetrations

The product can be used for both interior and exterior applications.

Application

1. Pre-moisten the substrate with clean water.
   This ensures that the foam cures properly and prevents unwanted expansion of the foam.
2. Shake the aerosol can well for at least 20 times before use.
   Note: Repeat stirring after long interruptions during use.
3. Remove the cap from the aerosol can.
4. Screw the aerosol can onto the thread of the application gun.
5. Dispense the foam by pressing the trigger.
   IMPORTANT: To ensure proper flow, hold the aerosol can upside down while dispensing.
   Note: The amount of foam extruded can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger or by using the flow adjustment screw on the application gun.
6. Fill deep joints in several layers.
   IMPORTANT: Allow each coat to expand and harden sufficiently before rewetting with water for application of the next coat.
   Notes: Only partially fill voids/cavities as the foam expands during curing.
   Small voids can be filled using an extension tube, however this will reduce the foam flow rate
