SikaCor-146 DW is a fast-curing, two-component epoxy coating for use on steel and concrete . The coating is hard-elastic, resistant to mechanical stresses, and exhibits resistance to abrasion, shock, and impact.

SikaCor-146 DW is solvent-free according to the directive concerning protective coatings of the German Association of the Paint Industry (VdL-RL 04).

Scope of application

SikaCor-146 DW is particularly suitable for the corrosion protection of steel, stainless steel and aluminum surfaces, as well as for the protection of mineral surfaces made of concrete and cement coatings in direct contact with certain substances.

SikaCor-146 DW is used mainly as an internal lining for tanks, silos, containers, piping (nominal diameter > 300 mm) and drinking water installations, as well as in the food and beverage industry.

Application

Blend

1. Thoroughly re-homogenize component A with an electric mixer.
2. Add component B according to the recommended dose to component A and briefly mix the two components using a low-speed electric mixer (start slowly to avoid splashing, then increase the speed up to 300 rpm for intensive mixing).
3. Mix for at least 3 minutes.
   The mixture is complete when a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
4. Pour the mixture into a clean container, then mix briefly as per the instructions above.
5. Always wear a well-fitting face and eye mask, suitable gloves, and other protective clothing such as a long-sleeved top, work trousers, and a rubber apron when mixing and handling products.

Implementation

1. The dry film thickness is most easily achieved by airless projection.
   Achieving standard thickness and a uniform appearance depends on the application method.
2. In general, application by projection gives the best result.
3. Applying with a brush or roller may require several coats to achieve the required thickness.
4. This depends on the design, local circumstances, and color.
5. Before starting the application, it is recommended to carry out a test on site to check if the result of the selected method is satisfactory.
