Weedtex - Anti-weed geotextile - Matgeco

Weedtex is a non-woven weed control geotextile . It is made of needle-punched PP fibers (treated against UV rays) which form resistant , easy-to-use, flexible and very extensible webs.

Weedtex is in open diffusion and it thus allows the free passage of water and air .

Weedtex will be more permeable and easier to implement than a woven geotextile.

Black in color, Weedtex prevents the growth of weeds and improves the growth of your plants . When laid on a new embankment, Weedtex prevents the leaching of fine particles , the creation of gullies and contributes to stabilization .

Thanks to its dark color and the humidity maintained under the Weedtex, the "tropical" thermal effect guarantees faster growth of the plantations.

If the fleece is not covered, it will be degraded by UV rays . Because of this, it will gradually disappear after a period of 3 to 5 years.

Covered with wood chips or gravel , the life of Weedtex can reach 25 years.

Implementation :

Unroll the Weedtex mulching geotextile on the previously leveled ground. Secure it by driving metal hooks (min. 1/m²) into the ground.
Mark the places planned for planting with a cross using a cutter. In these places, deploy the Weedtex to plant. Then, close the Weedtex on the base of the plantation and remove the soil residues.
