Sikaceram-355 starpaste - Ready-to-use adhesive - Sika

SikaCeram-355 StarPaste is a ready-to-use paste adhesive with improved adhesion (type D2) for bonding large ceramic tiles to walls .

This glue is specially designed for bathrooms and kitchens . Layer thickness ≤ 5.0 mm.
Indoor use. Class D2TE according to standard EN 12004.

Application areas

For bonding the following tiles:

• All types of ceramic tiles
• Glass mosaic
• Marble and other natural stones, as long as these materials are not susceptible to discoloration

For the following applications:

• In dry or slightly humid rooms (French regulations category EA)
• In moderately humid premises (French regulations category EB): kitchens, bathrooms for private use, heated private cellars and classrooms
• Damp premises (French regulations category EB+): bathrooms for collective use, laundries, etc. with possibility of cleaning with water pressure up to 10 bar

Application

1. SikaCeram-355 StarPaste is applied using a suitable notched trowel.
2. Apply sufficient glue to the prepared fixing surface with a suitable trowel and comb until the required layer thickness is achieved.
   The quantity of product must be sufficient to cover 100% of the back side of the tiles.
3. The tiles must be laid on freshly applied adhesive, exerting adequate pressure to ensure complete and uniform contact with the adhesive and therefore to obtain optimal adhesion.
4. If a film forms on the surface of the adhesive, immediately remove the adhesive layer with a trowel, discard this material and then apply a new layer of SikaCeram-355 StarPaste adhesive.
5. If necessary, adjust the positioning of the tiles.
6. Clean excess glue from the surface of the tiles and between the joints before the glue has dried.
7. After the required waiting time, apply the appropriate pointing mortar in the joints.

Consumption

Consumption depends on the profile and roughness of the support, the size of the tiles, the joints between them, and the installation technique.

• Small tiling surface: ~1.5 kg/m2
• Average tiling surface: ~1.6 kg/m2
• Large tiling surface: ~2.5 kg/m
