SikaSwell A is an acrylic cord that swells on contact with water, which is used to ensure the connection between walls/slabs and concrete joints for all types of joints and penetrations in concrete.
It has a rectangular profile and is available in several sizes.

Application

Application of SikaSwell S-2 sealant

1. Apply SikaSwell S-2 in a narrow triangular band (triangular nozzle size ~ 5 mm) onto the prepared substrate.
2. Extrude a sufficient quantity to compensate for the roughness of the surface to be leveled.

SikaSwell A application

1. Cut the SikaSwell A profile to the desired length.
2. Pack the SikaSwell A profile firmly into the freshly applied SikaSwell S-2 until a small amount is extruded from both sides of the profile to achieve total adhesion to the surface.
3. The profiles must be placed within a maximum of 30 minutes.
4. The connections and corners must be butted and secured.
5. Allow SikaSwell S-2 to harden for 2 to 3 hours before pouring concrete.
6. Protect the SikaSwell A profiles against water (e.g. rain) until the concrete is poured.
