Solid Color Stain - Opaque wood finish for outdoor woods - Owatrol Pro

High decorative protection , which evens out healthy or stained exterior wood and preserves the relief and grain of the wood .

Properties :

• Decorative protection "intense colors".
• Hides indelible aesthetic deterioration (bluing, stains, uneven appearance, etc.). Ideal for renovation.
• Can be used as an equalizer or color lightener on old stains in good condition.
• High resistance:
  • To the dimensional variations of the support,
  • Abrasion: does not flake even on the ground,
  • Weather and UV
• Resistance against chipping up to 15 years(1) on vertical surfaces and 5 years(1) on horizontal surfaces.
• Great ease of application without recovery. Perfect impregnation of the wood. Fast drying.
• Yield of 8 to 10 m²/L per coat.
  Practical performance will vary with type, surface condition and absorbency as well as mode of application.

(1) Resistance against flaking up to 5 years on vertical surfaces and 15 years on horizontal surfaces, insofar as the preparation of the wood and the application are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the supplier.

Substrate preparation:

• The wood must be clean, non-greasy (cleaned with Soapclean), dry (3 days of dry weather, maximum humidity of the wood 18% according to the DTU in force), healthy, prepared before application of Solid Color Stain according to the standards of the DTU in vigor.
• Mix well before application.
• Always plan the amount of Solid Color Stain needed to be sure to complete the job. For each coat, mix the pots with each other to avoid any color variations.
• Depending on the support and its condition, follow the instructions below:

New wood:

• Carry out the water drop test to check the impregnability of the wood. If it does not fit:
• Icy resinous (closed pores) and too humid (autoclaves). As soon as the substrate is laid, apply Seasonite. Wait 6 months before applying the Solid Color Stain finish.
• Glazed or oily exotics: leave the wood for 6 months in the weather (12 months for Iroko, Azobé or Padouk) before finishing with Solid Color Stain.

Gray, blackened or stained untreated wood:

• Sober up the wood with Net-Trol 200 pure. Sand the wood if necessary (grain 100). Solid Color Stain finish.

Gray wood, blackened formerly oiled...:

• Remove oil with the Net-Trol 400 + Net-Trol 200 system. Sand the wood if necessary (grain 100).
• Solid Color Stain finish.

Wood formerly varnished, painted or stained:

• Strip the wood with the Dilunett system or Prepdeck+ Net-Trol 200 or sand. On tannic wood (oak, chestnut, etc.), use DSP 800 or sand (contact us). Solid Color Stain finish.

Softwoods particularly sensitive to fungi and insect attacks:

• Treat the wood beforehand with TMU 84 NG. Let dry 3 or 4 hours before applying the Solid Color Stain finish.

NB:

• After sanding, ginning, always carry out a careful dust removal on the entire support.
• Application temperature: between +10°C and 30°C.

Application :

1. On raw prepared wood:
   Apply a coat of Solid Color Stain over the entire plank in the direction of the wood grain. Leave to dry for 3-4 hours. Apply a second coat.
2. On old stain in good condition (no or little chipping) to lighten the shade:
   Clean/degrease with Soapclean. Let dry well. Apply a layer of Solid Color Stain in Chamois (blocks the support and will serve as a lightening primer) on the entire board in the direction of the wood fibers. Wait 12 hours. Apply the stain you want such as Linitop Classic, Linitop Classic Acryl, Linitop Solid... in 2 coats.
3. On aesthetically deteriorated wood with indelible traces (bluing, stains, heterogeneous appearance, etc.) to restore a new decorative look:
   Clean/degrease with Soapclean. Let dry well. Solid Color Stain finish in 2 coats. In the case of a spray application, plan a smoothing with a brush or a roller to avoid any possible dripping and favor the penetration of the Solid Color Stain.

Commissioning of ground surfaces (terraces, pontoons, etc.):

• - Light traffic 4 to 7 days depending on weather conditions.
• - Definitive hardness 12 to 15 days.

• All woods: softwood, hardwood, exotic and heat-treated.
• Prepared new or old raw wood.
• Can also be applied to concrete, PVC,...
