SikaLayer - Acoustic underlay for parquet - Sika

High quality mat made of polyethylene foam with symmetrical perforations used to apply the glue in order to obtain a high noise attenuation effect.

Application areas

SikaLayer is used for bonding all solid parquet floors and 3-ply parquet floors (grooved and tongued) in new buildings and in particular in the field of renovation of residential buildings, offices, industrial buildings, commercial premises and exposure.

Application

1. Unroll the SikaLayer-03 / SikaLayer-05 parallel to the direction of the parquet elements.
2. Please ensure that the elements of SikaLayer-03 / SikaLayer-05 are well assembled but do not overlap.
3. Glue application requires a pocket gun.
4. Apply the glue using the manual or pneumatic gun in all the perforations with the triangular tip supplied (width 8 mm, height 10 mm).
5. Filling of all perforations is mandatory.
6. Hold the tip vertically in relation to the support.
7. Do not apply the glue outside the perforations.
8. Place the parquet elements and then press them firmly into the glue until they touch the carpet.
9. Parquet elements can be joined using a hammer or impact block.
10. Leave a space between the parquet floor and the wall and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
11. Immediately remove any remaining unhardened glue using a clean cloth and if necessary, clean with Sika Remover-208. Test the compatibility of Sika Remover208 on the wood surface before using it.

• SikaLayer-03: 3 mm x 25 m²
• SikaLayer-05: 5 mm x 20 m²

Dimensions:

• SikaLayer-03: Roll of 16.7 × 1.5 m = 25 m²
• SikaLayer-05: Roll of 13.3 × 1.5 m = 20 m²
