Consumption

Joints: The joint must be designed to accommodate the movement of the sealant. Generally, the joint width should be greater than 10 mm and less than 35 mm. A width-to-depth ratio of approximately 1:0.8 should be maintained.

Joints less than 10 mm are normally designed to prevent cracking and are therefore not expansion joints. The joint width-to-depth ratio at the time of application is important (guideline value +10°C).

The joints must be carefully calculated beforehand, as modifications are difficult to make later. The basis for the required joint width is the characteristics of the sealant and other building materials, as well as the load/temperature exposure and the building dimensions.

1. Is SikaFlex Pro-3 i-Cure suitable for high-traffic areas?
   Yes, it is specifically designed for floors subjected to heavy loads, forklifts, pallet trucks, vehicle traffic, etc.
2. Can it be used outdoors?
   Yes, it is very resistant to weathering, UV rays and temperature variations.
3. Is it compatible with underfloor heating?
   Yes, thanks to its high elasticity and thermal stability.
4. Can it be painted?
   It is generally not intended to be painted. Paint can crack with joint movement. If necessary, use a suitable tint from Sika.
5. Do we need a primary school?
   Not always; on porous concrete, it can be applied directly. On non-absorbent surfaces (metal, polished stone, ceramic), a Sika primer may be recommended for optimal adhesion.
6. How long does it take to be able to drive on it?
   Light traffic is generally possible after 24 hours, and heavy traffic after 48 to 72 hours.
7. Is it resistant to oils or hydrocarbons?
   Yes, the product offers excellent chemical resistance, making it ideal for garages, workshops and technical stations.
