Igol Fondation - Black protective varnish for concrete foundations - Sika

Igol Foundation is an oil solution of bituminous pitch in solvent phase.
Applied in a thin layer, it forms a rigorously continuous and homogeneous film on the support which closes the orifice of the capillary channels of the material and prevents any penetration of water into the walls.

Application

Substrate preparation

1. The concretes must be at least 7 days old.
2. The substrate must be clean, healthy, dust-free and free from non-adherent parts or parts that could affect adhesion.
   In particular, it must be free of traces of mold release products, grease, laitance, etc.
3. Provide a troweled smoothing filler before applying Igol Foundation on concrete blocks, bricks and agglomerates, or use Igolatex.

Implementation

1. Delivered ready to use, Igol Foundation is easily applied by brush, roller or spray gun.
2. Depending on the absorbency of the support, the application is done in 2 or 3 coats with a minimum interval of 10 hours between the coats.

Consumption

On floated plaster: 0.150 L/m²/coat.
On raw concrete: 0.150 L to 0.200 L/m²/coat depending on the roughness of the concrete.
On concrete blocks, bricks, agglomerates: provide a trowel dressing coating before applying Igol Foundation, or use Igolatex.

Conditioning

• 10 liter barrel.
• 25 liter barrel.
