Mortar for thin joints - Seifert

Properties:

  • Ready to spoil mortar, consisting of hydraulic Binder and calibrated aggregates, intended for the post bed and for the realization of joints.
  • Use whatever the porosity of the bricks.
  • Joints from 4 to 8 mm.

Areas of application:

  • Masonry of absorbing or non-absorbent bricks.
  • Masonry of concrete elements.

Instructions for use:

Preparing the media

  • The support must be clean, healthy and dusted.
  • For porous substrates, or in hot weather, moisten the bricks beforehand.

Product preparation

  • Mix manually or mechanically preferably 1 bag of 25 kg of 2 in 1 mortar with ± 4 litres of drinking water about until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.

Application of the product

  • The product can be manually applied to the trowel, to the pouch or mechanically using a piston pump.
  • Fill the vertical and horizontal joints completely.

consumption:

Approx. 4 kg/m²/mm thickness.
We do not take into account any possible perforation of bricks.

Precautions for use:

  • Temperature limits of use: + 5 °c to + 27 °c.
  • Do not use on dripping, frozen or freezing time within 48 hours.
  • After finishing, and by strong heat or wind, protect the mortar from desiccation by humidification of the surface without washing it off.
  • After finishing, and in rainy weather, protect the fresh masonry from an excessive absorption of water by covering it in order to avoid the appearance of efflorescence.
  • Do not use for submerged substrates.
  • Never mix fresh and old mortar, or add water to the product once it has been wasted.
  • Always put a sample for the approval of the colors (keep in mind that you put the samples under the same conditions as the masonry).

Characteristics:

  • Flexural strength at 28 days: > 3 MPa
  • Compressive strength at 28 days: > 11 MPa
  • Start of socket at 20 °c: 7 hours
  • End of outlet at 20 °c: 11 hours

(Tests carried out on 4x4x16 specimens, stored at 20 °c and 90% humidity).
