The Seifert, ready-to-use, hydrofuged Grouting mortar Belgian manufacturing and reduced dust emission, is composed of selected raw materials, dried and prepared in special ovens and carefully dosed according to the following composition:

• White, rolled and washed quartz grains from 0.1 to 0.6 mm
• Finely ground natural stone
• Selected lime sprayed, at least 95% calcium hydrate
• White cement
• Stearate-based water repellent products
• Mineral dyes
• Packaging: 25 kg bag

Areas of application:

The repointing mortar Seifert is perfectly suited to make joints (all types of joints: full flat smoothed, full brushed flat,...) of Interior and exterior walls, in new construction and renovation. The walls can be in solid bricks, façade bricks, concrete blocks, concrete bricks and platelets.

The repointing mortar does not serve as a coating, for the Grouting of floors, or for walls composed of other materials than those mentioned above (e.g. glass bricks, etc.).

Media preparation:

• The substrate must be stable, cohesive and solid.
• Remove all dust and mortar residues from the joints to obtain a healthy support.
• Seal depth min. 10 mm, gasket height between 8 and 12 mm.
• Wait at least 1 month after masonry work on the wall before rejoining.
• For porous and/or hot-weather substrates (e.g. dry wind,...) moisten the bricks beforehand (to avoid the risk of drying the mortar).
• Protect materials sensitive to tasks (e.g. glasses, Windows, terraces, thresholds,...)

Implementation and application:

• Operating temperature: + 3 °c to + 27 °c.
• Application time at + 20 °c: Max. 2 hours (if properly maloriented). In case of lower temperatures: it will take more time to bind the product and to harden: the final color of the mortar will be darker. In the event of higher temperatures and/or wind, it will take less time to bind the product and the curing is faster: the final color of the mortar will be clearer.
• Do not apply on hardened, frozen or thawed media within 48 hours (to reduce the risk of efflorescence).
• Do not apply in direct sunlight or in case of rain (Swing) without protecting the façade.
• Mix ± 75% of your repointing mortar bag with 3 to 3.75 l of drinking water (always the same amount of water per bag to avoid color differences). During mixing, preferably mechanically for 3 minutes, add the remainder of the mortar until the desired homogeneous consistency is obtained. Stir vigorously for at least 5 minutes in case of manual kneing.
• Apply the damp mortar and press firmly with a joint iron to obtain a solid seal.
• Do not (r) add sandy or other adjuvants, or otherwise cancel the product warranty.
• Never mix an already wasted mortar that is taking with fresh mortar.
• Do not mix or add water as soon as the mixture begins to take.
• To avoid color differences (following a different drying time of the mortar), always finish the façade section on which you work on the same day or in the same climatic conditions.

After application:

• In hot weather and/or dry wind, humidify several times (next day, etc...) and possibly protect the surface rejoined to guarantee the quality and color of the mortar (the color is determined by the drying time).
• Protect the surface that has been rejoined for at least 1 week against rain and Frost to minimize the risk of efflorescence.
• Protect the surface rejoined for at least 1 week against wind and/or heat to guarantee quality and color, and to prevent the mortar from being burned.
• If there is a risk that the mortar water will be absorbed too quickly by the bricks or the water evaporates too quickly, it is advisable to moisten the surface.
• Our products are made with a lot of care and attention. Since we have no influence on climatic conditions and circumstances on the spot, color differences or efflorescence may occur in some cases. We take no responsibility for the end result.

Characteristics:

• Dry density: 1900 kg/m³ (measured on test specimens 4/4/16 cm, obtained by damage of a ruined mortar of a quantity of water according to the instructions for use above)
• Compressive strength after 28 days: > 15 N/mm ² (measured on the same test specimens)
• Bending strength after 28 days: > 3 N/mm ² (on the same test specimens)
• Retraction after 28 days: 0.45 mm/M
• Frost resistance: no damage after 28 cycles

Colors:

The Seifert Grouting mortar is available in 20 standard unalterable colours.

conservation:

1 year from the date of manufacture, in original unopened packaging, free from moisture and frost.
