Sikagard Hydrofuge Roof is a ready-to-use emulsion, based on silane and siloxane, in aqueous solution, for water-repellent impregnation , specific for tiles.

Application areas

Sikagard Hydrofuge Roof can be applied to terracotta or concrete tiles, to waterproof them and protect them against water infiltration.

Application

  1. The substrate must be clean, sound, free of dust, dirt, oil and grease, efflorescence and old paint. Cracked tiles must first be repaired or replaced.
  2. Clean with an appropriate detergent or steam clean.
    Best results will be obtained on a dry and absorbent support.
  3. The surface must be dry on the surface without any damp spots.
  4. Sikagard Hydrofuge Roof is applied with a low pressure gun, brush or roller, working from the bottom of the roof upwards and avoiding drips.
  5. The next coat must be applied fresh on fresh, that is to say when the support is still dark after application of the first coat but when it is no longer damp.
  6. Can be coated with water-based and solvent-based polymer paints.
  7. When recoating with Sikagard, SikaColor Emulsion or solvent-based coating, wait at least 5 hours after water repellent impregnation.

Consumption

Depends on the porosity of the support:
On tiles with low porosity: about 150 to 200 g/m2
On tiles with high porosity: approximately 300 to 500 g/m²
(A test is necessary to determine the exact consumption)

Conditioning

5 or 20 liter container.
