Sika-4A - Setting accelerator - Sika

Sika-4a gives Portland cement a strong setting acceleration , which makes it possible to work on dripping surfaces.

Features

Application areas

• Realization of coatings on dripping surfaces.
• Sealing of water inflows.
• Acceleration of mortars and concretes.

Application

Sealing of weak infiltrations:

1. Preparation of the support by transplanting and washing the area to be treated.
2. Prepare an accelerated cement paste by mixing CEM I with pure or diluted Sika-4a depending on the infiltration.
3. Apply firmly by hand or trowel a layer of 5 to 8 mm over the entire surface.
4. Immediately apply a recovery primer for the following coats. Leave to harden for a few hours.

Sealing under high pressure:

1. Deepen the points by which the strongest resurgences are noticed and seal there with cement and Sika-4a flexible rubber drains.
2. Apply the Sika-4a cement paste gradually approaching the drains to concentrate the water in these points.
3. To promote adherence to recovery, make fresh on fresh a clear throw. Leave to harden for 4 to 6 hours before applying the following coats with Super Sikalite mortar.
4. The drains will be removed and the infiltrations plugged by making a carrot with CEM I and Sika-4a just before applying the last coat of plaster.
5. A Sika-4a coating must always be covered with a Super Sikalite coating.

Consumption

Sika-4a is mixed pure or diluted with fresh CEM I 42.5 or 52.5R pure cement.
The dilution is a function of the desired acceleration.
