Anti-Slip R9 - Akemi

Akemi Anti-Glisse R9 creates an anti-slip action on smooth or varnished surfaces, such as granite , gneiss and other hard stones , ceramic tiles and enamelled surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.

Features :

  • AKEMI Anti-Glisse R9 is an aqueous and inorganic formulation intended for the treatment of natural or artificial stone surfaces with a silicate composition meeting the criteria for anti-slip classification R9 (approved by the Regional Office for Industry and Crafts in Würzburg) .
  • A chemical reaction with the silicic constituents of the stone generates microscopic pores which markedly increase the anti-slip properties of a wet surface.
  • Yield: approx. 10 - 20 m²/litre depending on the absorbency and the nature of the surface.

Use :

  1. Before treatment with AKEMI Anti-Glisse R9, thoroughly clean the floor and remove any coatings or impregnations.
  2. Check the degree of slip resistance before and after surface treatment using a suitable measuring device (eg Floor Slide Control FSC 2000 print).
  3. Operating temperature from 15 to 25°C.
Switch off the underfloor heating in good time.
  4. Regularly apply AKEMI Anti-Glisse R9 undiluted with a sponge or a mop until saturation.
    Avoid lathering.
  5. Apply the product over the entire surface or up to a joint. Avoid applying the product twice on one spot.
  6. The duration of action depends on the desired effect and the type of stone (approx. 10 to 15 minutes).
AKEMI Anti-Glisse R9 should not start to dry during this time, as it no longer reacts once dry.
Always carry out a preliminary test in order to be able to judge the effectiveness and the effect on the polish and the color.
  7. Then clean with AKEMI Nettoyant and rinse with plenty of water until the water on the surface is neutral.
  8. If necessary, it is possible to carry out a new treatment with AKEMI Anti-Glisse R9.
  9. It is possible to treat the coating after chemical etching, for example in order to revive the colours, with products such as AKEMI Anti-Stain Nano, AKEMI Color Reinforcement or AKEMI Color Reinforcement Super.
  10. Daily care with AKEMI Crystal Clean.
Clogging of microscopic pores is avoided by using at least every 25 cleanings a brush and AKEMI Cleanser.
In the event of heavy soiling, carry out this cleaning more often in order to maintain the anti-slip safety.
