Sika Boom-552 FoamFix - Fast-curing mounting adhesive EC 1 PLUS - Sika
SikaBond FoamFix is a fast-curing, low-expanding polyurethane mounting adhesive that can be applied with a gun , for bonding insulation and plasterboard panels to various substrates.
EC 1 PLUS label: very low VOC emissions.
Features
- Good adhesion to many building materials
- Moisture resistant once cured, single-component, ready to use
- Good thermal insulation
- Can be cut, sanded and painted
- Professional application with a spray gun
Areas of application
The product is designed for use indoors and outdoors, above and below ground level:
- Plasterboard
- Extruded polystyrene (XPS) panels
- Expanded polystyrene (EPS) panels
- Wood fiber panels
- Cork insulation panels
- Non-structural building elements
Application
- Shake the aerosol can well at least 20 times before use.
Note: Re-shake after prolonged interruptions during use. - Remove the aerosol can cap.
- Screw the aerosol can onto the threads of the application gun.
- Dispense the foam by pressing the trigger.
IMPORTANT: To ensure proper flow, hold the aerosol upside down during dispensing.
Note: The amount of foam extruded can be adjusted by applying more or less pressure to the trigger or by using the flow adjustment screw on the application gun. - Apply lines of foam 2 to 3 cm wide to the panel.
- Space the lines approximately 25 cm apart.
- Before attaching the panels to the support, allow the foam to harden for the specified waiting time (2-3 minutes).
- Secure the panels within the specified open time of the foam (5-8 minutes).
IMPORTANT: Do not move or reattach the panels once the foam has started to harden.
If a panel needs to be removed and re-glued, reapply the foam as previously described. - Fill the gaps and joints between the panels with foam.
Note: Small spaces can be filled using an extension tube, however this will reduce the flow of foam.
IMPORTANT: Before removing the aerosol, place all remaining contents of the aerosol in a container for safe disposal.
Removing the aerosol can without emptying it first can cause foam to splash.
IMPORTANT: Clean the application gun with Sika Boom Cleaner immediately after use.
Removing the aerosol can without thoroughly cleaning it with Sika Boom Cleaner can damage the application gun.
