Application

  1. Before you start grouting, check that the tile adhesive has completely hardened.
  2. SikaCeram LargeGrout is applied using a suitable tool such as a mortar spreader, rubber squeegee or mortar trowel/trowel.
  3. Make sure to fill and compact the joints evenly.
If necessary, finish grouting with a finishing tool while the mortar is still wet.
  4. Then, using the same mortar/trowel spreader, remove excess mix from the top of the tiles by moving the tool diagonally across the joints.
  5. When the grouting mortar is dry to the touch, it is possible to start cleaning the surface of the tiles with a slightly damp sponge.
  6. Clean the sponge regularly with clear water.
  7. When the mortar has sufficiently hardened in the joint (test with a fingernail), polish the tiled surfaces by wiping them with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
If the water has been replaced by SikaCeram LatexGrout, this must be done immediately after cleaning with a sponge.

Consumption

The consumption depends on the size of the tiles and the width and depth of the joint.
These figures are theoretical and do not take into account any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, level variations or losses etc.
As an indication, the consumption is indicated in the following table and expressed in g/m².

Dimensions of the tiles Joint width
Centimeters 5mm 10mm 15mm 20mm
5x5x0.4 1210 2130 2847 3415
10x10x0.6 972 1815 2370 3196
15x15x0.9 996 1900 2530 3474
20x20x0.9 756 1458 1963 2723
30x30x1 567 1106 1506 2111
30x60x1 427 839 1147 1616
50x50x1 343 677 930 1315
60x120x1.1 237 470 649 923

Consumption can also be calculated using the following formula:
S × [ (a+b+l)/(a+l)(b+l) ] × w × h × d × 8300

S = Total area (m2) | a, b = Tile dimensions (cm) | l = Joint width (cm) | h = Tile thickness (cm) | d = Density of fresh mortar (kg/l)

Conditioning

25 kg bag.
