FLEXcement - Flexible tile adhesive - PTB Compaktuna

FLEXcement is a dry composition which gives an adhesive with great " flexibility ", ready for use by the simple addition of water.

Features :

• Extraordinary adhesion that far exceeds that of traditional adhesive cements
• Remarkable elasticity that traditional adhesive cements do not have.
  FLEXcement has increased resistance against shear stresses.
  FLEXcement can therefore economically replace pasty glues for gluing on chipboards, for example.
• A set of qualities that provides a solution in difficult cases.
  FLEXcement provides, for example, a solution in the many applications of bonding tiles to a tile support (interior only).

Application areas :

FLEXcement not only covers the area of traditional cement adhesives and paste glues, but guarantees numerous applications where these products can no longer provide solutions.

FLEXcement allows the bonding of the following materials, both indoors and outdoors: earthenware, ceramics, mosaics, etc., and on a support such as concrete, masonry, cemented surfaces, aerated concrete, wood fiber boards, wood chip boards, veneers (the last 3 only indoors), etc.

Even bonding tiles to tiles is possible with FLEXcement (interior).
FLEXcement can be used for bonding 1 x 1 m slabs to underfloor heating (see reports R2EM / EM 18-CC-020 and R2EM / EM 18-CC006).
For gluing these large format tiles, certain guidelines and additional rules must be observed.

Manual :

1. The application will always be carried out on a clean, healthy surface, free of dust and traces of oil.
   Supports with high absorption are pre-impregnated with a solution of COMPAKTUNA(PRO) /water (1/4).
2. The panels serving as support must always be securely fixed before starting to place the tiles.
3. The FLEXcement should be mixed with approximately 24% water, i.e. ± 6 L of water on 25 kg of product.
   After careful mixing, he lets the glue thus obtained rest for 5 to 15 minutes.
4. Then the glue must be mixed intensively again.
   The glue is now ready to use.
5. The support is first covered with a thin layer of glue using a trowel or a notched spatula.
   This layer must be well packed.
6. Immediately afterwards a second layer is applied which is divided into regular grooves using a notched spatula (notched spatula 4 to 10 mm).
7. Then the slabs are laid with a small rotating movement and firmly packed.
8. The open time of the applied layer depends on the working conditions and the support.
   Grouting ( JOINT HY , FILLER GP or JOINT-LARGE SP ) is only carried out when the glue is sufficiently resistant (wait at least 24 hours, depending on the temperature and atmospheric humidity).
