  • Thickness from 2 to 5 cm
  • Finishes adapted to the thickness to reduce slab breakage during installation.

All other formats and finishes can (or could :-) ) be made on request if the quantity is sufficient.

Custom-made blue stone technical elements can be found on this page: CUSTOM-MADE Stone Elements .

Standardized dimensions in 10 cm steps are less expensive, see the dedicated pages: Classic Format

Measurement Tips:

Measurements in cm, length x width in cm

Tolerance: Thickness = 10%. Length and width = +- 1.5 mm. A lower tolerance is practiced for the "marble choice".

Provide a joint of +- 3 mm for the interior. The antique type finishes allow joints up to 8 mm.

Time limit:

2 to 6 weeks

Conditioning and packaging:

We take care to adapt the packaging to the type of order. If necessary, for large dimensions, additional costs could be proposed.

Collection by the customer is the least expensive solution in terms of packaging.

Choice and quality of blue stone from Belgium:

Certificates guaranteeing traceability can be provided on request.

There are 3 main choices in stone, The marble choice (the most qualitative), the current choice and the third choice. This last quality is not sold by Pierre & Sol, except in some antique or aged finishes that justify the presence of defects.

Current choice (or technical or building current): The vast majority of productions are carried out in current choice, especially for classic finishes.

Marble choice (or first choice): This choice is intended for exceptional pieces made by a stone cutter or projects requiring high precision in terms of measurement tolerances. The stone has very few flaws.

Finishes and Aesthetics:

SMOOTH FINISHES

Raw sawn finish in standard choice or marble choice. Condition of the raw surface after sawing the slices.

Belgian Blue Stone/Pierre-Bleue-Belge-rough-sawn

Ground finish (or etched or scoured). State carried out dry. Shade shades range from gray or scoured ground (P14 to 40) to light blue ground (P60 - 80 or 120).

Pierre-Bleue-Belgian-millstone-ecure-egrise

Clear honed finish. Shades of honed light blue tint (G220 weight). Honing reveals visible grinding traces following the grain of the abrasive but without visible scratches.

Belgian Blue Stone/Pierre-Bleue-Belge-softened-clear

Dark honed finish (or matte or satin polished). State of dark honed or matt polished (grammage G400 or 500)

Pierre-Bleue-Belge-honed-dark-polished-matt-satin-mid

Polished finish. The polished state brings out the specific characteristics of the stone: the white spots, veins, files, ... are highlighted. The surface becomes reflective and very shiny. The abrasive used for polishing is usually G600 to G1000. CAUTION: Very slippery.

Pierre-Belgian-Belgian-polished-shiny

Sandblasted finish. Pressure sandblasting is a quick way to get a light gray rough surface

"SLIM CUT" FINISHES

Bush-hammered finish (fine, coarse, manual, etc.) Fine and coarse from 3 cm thick. Manual bush-hammering is carried out using the bush-hammer, a hammer with a steel head made up of a checkerboard of pyramidal points. The traces (small dots 1 to 3 mm wide and deep) are more or less spaced out depending on the toothing of the tool.

Pierre-Bleue-Belgian-boucharde

Chiseled finish. This is the traditional cut par excellence, with numerous grooves (1 to 2 mm deep) with a slightly inclined asymmetrical profile. Light gray tint.

Pierre-Bleue-Belgian-chiselled

"COARSE CUT" FINISHES

Graduated finish (1 line per cm). From 3 cm thick. The bleacher is a comb-shaped steel chisel. The size of the cutting teeth and the width of the tip are variable.

Attention :

  1. For logistical reasons: pieces longer than 155 cm could be divided into equal parts of a maximum of 155 cm.
  2. For logistical reasons: orders that are too small or too light may be declined. In general, the minimum order is 10 m².
  3. All orders with problematic or too weak logistics can be picked up directly by the customer. :-)
  4. The measurements indicated for the order are the maximum measurements of the stone: thickness, length, width,...
  5. We take care to control the orders to validate the technical feasibility and/or the good practices.
