Compaktuna - Plastic dispersion - PTB Compaktuna

Compaktuna improves and perfects all mortars and concretes , mixed with the mixing water, it provides numerous qualities and properties, thus allowing applications unknown and considered impossible until now.
A white, stable plastic dispersion of liquid resins , specially composed and used as a plastic binder for cement , lime , plaster , etc.

Features :

  • Huge adhesion: 10 to 15 times greater than that of a usual mortar.
  • Complete absence of cracks: a imitation covering (3 mm) on a chimney hood shows no cracks after 4 years.
  • Waterproofing: observed practically and scientifically.
    Positive result.
  • Flexibility: you can obtain a mortar that is both flexible and hard.
  • Dust free: all ingredients are bound by resin.
  • Abrasion resistance: resists metal wheeled cart traffic.
Abrasion resistance conforms to EN 13813.
  • Frost and heat stability: a plastic mortar with COMPAKTUNA meets the requirement according to EN 12004.
  • Insensitivity to fats, oils, and essences.

Manual :

Nature and preparation of the base:

  1. The bottom must be sound, firm, clean and free of dust.
  2. After cleaning the surface, rinse it well with clean water.
The same prescriptions are valid for the plates that we want to fix.

Adhesion of natural stones:

  1. On the cleaned support and the backs of the plates, the greatest adhesion security can be obtained by using COMPAKTUNA plastic mortar.
  2. Given the unevenness of certain split and scaly plates, it is sometimes necessary to obtain a flat surface, to place it in a fairly thick layer of mortar.
  3. The greatest adhesion will be obtained by hanging the plates on: walls, facades, columns or floors.

A composition of the following mortar:

  1. 1 volume cement (e.g. CEM II/BM 32.5) with 2 to 3 volumes Rhine sand.
(For use on natural stone, it is recommended to use white cement).
  2. After dry mixing beforehand, a solution of 1 volume of COMPAKTUNA + 1 to 2 volumes of pure water is added.
  3. Everything must be mixed homogeneously to obtain a plastic mortar.
  4. This COMPAKTUNA mortar will be applied to the back of the plates at a thickness of 1 to 2 mm.
  5. Then we will put a layer of the same COMPAKTUNA mortar on the wall, the floor or the support on which we will place the plates.
The thickness of this layer of mortar depends on the equality of the support.
  6. On even concrete, cellular concrete or any flat wall, a layer of COMPAKTUNA mortar of 2 to 3 mm will be sufficient.
  7. The plate will be pressed well in this fresh mortar, in order to obtain a very flat surface, following the rules of the technique.

On a very irregular surface:

  1. A layer of mortar of 2 to 3 mm is insufficient.
In some cases it will be necessary to use a layer even 10 mm thick.
  2. In this case, the adhesion bridge is a much more economical solution.
The adhesion bridge is a coating to be applied with a brush, one or a few days before placement, on the back of the plates.
  3. The composition of this adhesion bridge: In a COMPAKTUNA-water solution 1 in 1 to 2, to be mixed beforehand, add, stirring well, a dry mixture of 1 volume of cement and 1 volume of coarse Rhine sand, until you obtain a very homogeneous dough.
  4. This paste will be brushed onto the surface to be glued to a thickness of 1 to 2 mm.
It is recommended to respect a drying time of at least 12 hours to obtain complete adhesion.
  5. This will result in a very rough surface, which will allow the plates to be completely anchored in the layer of mortar that will be used for fixing.
  6. Now simply mix 1 volume of COMPAKTUNA and 5 volumes of water to make the placement mortar, which will be less expensive but with guaranteed adhesion, even when using a fairly thick layer of mortar.

Repointing:

  1. ... natural stone must be done with great care and with mortar of extraordinary quality.
This mortar must have very high adhesion, be crack-free, resistant to frost and heat and must be waterproof.
  2. All these necessary properties are essential to avoid major damage to facade and floor coverings, both inside and outside.
All these necessary properties are specific to COMPAKTUNA mortar.
  3. For ordinary gray or white repointing the following mixture is recommended: 1 volume of cement, mixed beforehand with 2 to 3 volumes of white sand or fine Rhine sand.
  4. For use on natural stone, it is recommended to use white cement.
  5. A 1/3 COMPAKTUNA-water solution is added to this dry mixture.
For specific materials e.g. shale a 1/1 dilution may be indicated.

Using advice :

As soon as the repointing mortar has become stiff, the edges of the plates must be cleaned directly dry, in order to possibly remove any remaining mortar, which after drying can only be removed with great difficulty.

Conditioning :

1 L, 5 L, 10 L and 25 L: White.
